Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Purbeck House, an outstanding accommodation option conveniently located right across from the college, designed specifically for Year 12 and 13 students.

Let us share with you why Purbeck House is such a great place to live and grow.

Purbeck House offers 124 single ensuite rooms, with the flexibility to convert some into twin rooms if needed. The building is fully catered, providing three nutritious meals a day, seven days a week, so students can focus entirely on their studies without worrying about meal preparation.

What makes Purbeck House truly special is its dedicated support system. Live-in house parents are always available to assist students with any challenges they may face, ensuring a warm, safe, and supportive environment. The house is also equipped with free high-speed Wi-Fi, secure access, and 24/7 on-site security, giving students the peace of mind they need to study, relax, and socialize with confidence. The accommodation includes designated blocks for male and female students, along with communal social and study areas where students can meet, collaborate, and unwind.

To make daily life more convenient, Purbeck House provides regular room cleaning, laundry services, and a weekly towel change, allowing students to focus more on their academic and personal growth. Each room is equipped with small kitchen facilities for light snacks, secure bicycle storage, and an in-room safe for keeping valuables secure. These features make living at Purbeck House comfortable, practical, and stress-free.

Beyond just accommodation, Purbeck House organizes weekend activities to help students connect, build friendships, and create lasting memories. These events ensure that students have opportunities to enjoy their time outside the classroom and feel part of a vibrant community.

In short, Purbeck House is not just a place to stay – it is a safe, supportive, and lively community where students can thrive academically and socially during their time at college.

Here are some real-life experiences shared by students living in Purbeck House:

One student, who moved into Purbeck House in September 2023 at the age of 16, shared their journey. “When I first arrived, it was my first time moving to the UK, and I struggled with being far from my family and friends back home. However, the staff at Purbeck House were incredibly kind and supportive. They helped me adapt to the new environment and deal with my homesickness. With their guidance, I quickly felt more comfortable and confident living here.”

Another student, who started living in Purbeck House in September 2024, had this to say: “Compared to other boarding houses, Purbeck House gives me more space and independence, which I believe is great preparation for university life. The rooms are larger, and each has its own kitchenette, which is a big improvement over shared kitchens. The large, comfortable beds make the rooms even more enjoyable. Another thing I appreciate is the weekday register time, which is the latest among all the boarding houses at Abbey College – 8:45 AM. This gives us extra time to rest in the mornings. Overall, I feel that Purbeck House provides the perfect balance of independence, comfort, and community.”
